Prop/99 Response

Currently using Acme 515 (13" x12 w/.080 cup) on 99 resposne lx w/325 monsoon. Strictly slalom 32-36 mph. Anyone have experience with the 515 vs similar sized Acme prop?

Are you looking for something specific?

Going to a 13x12.625 or 13x13 will give you a bit of a softer hit off the ball and also bring your WOT RPM down as well as lower RPM for a given MPH. You won't have quite as much pop out of the hole, however. Going to a 13x11.5 will give you added torque out of the hole, likely take your WOT RPM to or past the rev limiter, and give you a solid yank at the finish of your turn.

Well put, i've got the same response from customers that made a prop switch.

The RLXI & RLX - Hammerhead does really well with the 13x12.625

I have seen people use a few different prop size's and cup but they all had a end goal. What are you trying to do? Some props will give a softer wash out and wake. I have also seen people say that by just changing the cup it would change the shape of the wake. For instance if your a 35 off rider and then you go to 45 off will see a difference in the shape of the wake.

Please give us a few more ideas of what you are wanting for your goals. Are you worried about WOT and top speeds? Do you barefoot? What RPMS are you running at 32 and 36MPH?

Ok guys I have the RLXI SE with the 383 HH my build sheet on the boat says I have a 13x13, 0.080 Acme 425. I GPS 51 wto why should i look at a different prop?

I don't know Dontknow.gif What problems do you feel you have? I would figure with the HH you have great hole shot and at 51MPH that seems plenty fast.

Holeshot of the HH 383 propped 12.625 is not at all what you might expect compared to Monsoon 340 propped 11.5

Just ask my ski partner. Whistling.gif

I tried them but my boat is a 97 response with a carb 5.7. I like the 515 best, 449 second and original OJ 13x13 third. I have all three as a spair. They have all been bent just a tad that I fixed myself. Currently running a new 515, best top end speed and performance to ski. It also pulls 3 tubes fully loaded with teens or adults easily. Heck last year I pulled a float plane off the beach that was stuck. Dang boat pulls like a truck and drives like my Corvette, love it.
