Platform brackets?

Does anyone out there know where to get some old or cheap platform brackets for my sportster? My buddy and I would like to whip up an extra that we can mount a cooler etc on it for those special kind of days Thumbup.gif

Wouldn't it be easier to just get a cooler with handles on each end and then use nylon web straps to go through the handles and around the swimstep? That's what we do when we go shoreline camping and have to load an entire camp for a family of four (+ friends) into our Sporty. Just a thought.

Yeah,

I'm not really sure what the OP is trying to accomplish here. Remove swim step, install swim / cooler step?

That's my impression too. I've just always seen people cinch strap/bungee/rope the cooler on the swim platform. Kindof like LS One showed here.

Obviously we could just strap on a cooler but the idea would be to have a permanent place to mount things like a cooler, grill and whatever else we want without ruining my good platform I just restored. Another thought was to mount the extra trolling motor we have laying around the house on it. It was just an idea we had so I thought I would check to see if anyone knew where we could get some.

Ahso...I see what you're talking about now. Didn't realize you were talking about adding other things like a grill as well (which would certainly cause some scratching of the platform). Looks like Pistol Pete helped you out then. Hope it goes well.
