Malibu Mystere?

I have been looking on and off for older malibu for a while. I was pretty sure I wanted an older sunsetter, but I had also considered an Echelon LX (I would prefer the 10 person capacity of the sunsetter).

I ran across a guy who had a friend who had a "sunsetter" for sale. Well I called and was told by the wife that it was actually a "mystere". She said it was a 91 or 92. Something along those lines. I am planing on taking a look at it, but it is a pretty long drive.

So can someone tell me what a malibu mystere is? Is it actually a model of boat? I have also seen boats described as "F3 Euro Mystere"-- but I have no idea what that means either.

So I have a bunch of questions. Does a mystere have wood? How does it compare to a sunsetter? What hull does it use? What capacity (in people) does it have. Can it be a decent wakeboard boat?

Thanks

Jared

Welcome to the site first off. The mystere does have wood in it. The echelon in 93' was the first all fiberglas boat from Malibu. The engine is the mercrusier 260-280 HP and is 20'8" in length. Yes it can be a decent wb boat just add weight for a beginner to maybe intermediate level. It has the built in swimplatform that was popular in the early 90's. It compares more to the sunsetter than the skier model
