Pretty silly, should be focusing more on the licensing of boaters. I'm in Canada, was in BC last summer and I needed a boating license. So I got one. This year you need one in Alberta and I have one, so I'm happy with that. Anybody who drives my boat must have one, and at the moment its limited to me and the girlfriend.

I've seen some freaky driving from people on the Shuswap lakes in BC. Albertans are already crazy drivers on the road so I'm a bit anxious about the lake!!

the strange thing about the canadian law is that if you rent a boat you don't need to take the course or pass the test (gotta love lobbyist's).

How cool is that, those with the least experience don't need any boating knowledge to operate.
