Anybody have a VLX on DHM trailer ('04 - '08)...?

I'm currently contemplating a 2005 VLX purchase. The problem is that the boat is out of state, and I need to know if it will fit in my garage.

So I was hoping somebody could measure their VLX for me.

Here's what I'm looking for:

  • '05 - '08 Wakesetter VLX on DHM Trailer
  • Manual Wedge (positioned all the way down)
  • Swim platform removed
  • Tongue swung all the way back.

Every inch counts, so please be as precise as possible. I really want this boat, but don't want to get it home and say, "Oops!"

Also, if somebody could post a side picture of the tongue swung back that shows how it relates to the tip of the bow, that would be GREAT!

Thanks!!

I just went out and measured it. Our 23' LSV / DHM is 25' 8"with swim step removed, wedge down and tongue in tact. Remove the tongue and it's 23' 8". My wedge sits in an indentation in the transom, extending 2" beyond the rear rub rail when it is in the down position. Take 5 minutes to remove the wedge and you can pick up 2"

I know it's not the exact question you asked, but you can probably extrapolate that to a VLX, which is 2' shorter.

Thanks Roger!

The extrapolation idea might work (VLX is actually 18" shorter than LSV), but only if the DHM trailer is also exactly 18" shorter.

Anybody else with a VLX on DHM?

Not to be a thread jacker but the height with an illusion tower folded down would be nice to know also.

There is a thread on VLX & LSV height from last year. I remember providing measurements

Why don't you ask the seller to make some exact measurements of his DHM trailer and boat?

I did... it took him a while to get back to me. The answer was 21'10"

So, will it fit, and are you going for it?

Yes, it will fit. That length gives me 6" to spare. It will be tight, but it will work.

Bottom line is this '05 VLX is high on my list, but it's not the only boat I'm looking at. Since it's out of state, I need to exhaust a few local options first.
