New HO Triumph ski

I had decided on a pair of HO Venom bindings for my birthday and the shop I bought them from had a 67" Triumph sample for better than 50% off retail. My wife said to go for it so I ended up with my bindings mounted to a new ski!

I've had two days on the new stick and I love it! The ski is rock solid but more balanced (forward/back) than my Charger. It's about 3/4" narrower than the Charger and rides a bit deeper in the water. It's nominally 2" shorter but in reality it's only about 1" shorter.

The first day it was pretty choppy: to the point I wouldn't have skied on the Charger. Of course I had to try out the new ski and I was amazed at how easily it cut through the water. Kind of reminded me of my shaped snow skis.

Today we got out for some early morning glass and I've never had so much fun on a ski! I feel so much more solid on this ski than the old one (and I liked it too). The more I put in to the ski, the more it takes and the more it gives back. My ski buddy said my turns were better than they ever have been and that I was generating a lot more pull on both sides.

I have a feeling this ski will take me as far as I want to go. It's skied equally easily from 26 - 32 MPH and seems really well balanced.

Just thought I'd share my experiences so far. To me the Triumph is a great ski for someone who wants to ski in all conditions and might take skiing in to the course as a way to improve their skiing.

Cheers,

Mike
