Beep when you turn the key?

Recommended Posts

Anyone know what the 2 or 3 beeps are when you turn the key to start the boat?

Just last weekend mine has started beeping while the boat is in idle a few times I turn it off and back on and it quits.

I have checked the oil, v-drive oil, and transmission fluid levels all look good. The temp, oil pres, v-drive light are fine.

I can't think of anything else to check. Any ideas would be great.

I would think it would happen more often. Usually We are in 10 feet of water and the depth gauge is reading 10.

It has only actually happened twice and it like beeps like three times then quits.

I have never purposely set the depth alarm maybe it got set somehow.

On my boat, if the DF detects a low depth, even for a split second from debris or whatever, it will continue to beep a few seconds. In other words, you could be in 10 feet of water, it could pick something up, and you'd get beeps. I would read about how to set the alarm (I have forgotten) and turn it off.

Also, sometimes when the DF can't get a reading, the alarm will go off, which could also be the case.
