New to Bu. Have 2008 XTi with transom flush. Can this system be used to winterize the boat with antifreeze? No instructions about this came with the boat.

The answer is ... maybe...

In order for the transom flush kit to "shut off" the thru hull fresh water and "turn on" the source from the transom flush, it has to be under pressure. If you can deliver the anti-freeze through a pump that will put it under pressure it will work. I forget what the pressure needs to be. Roughly that of a garden hose...

home depot or lowes sells a fairly cheap pump you can drop in a five gallon bucket that has a male garden hose connection on it, that works well. I believe they call it a floor sucker pump. You will then need about eight gallons of RV antifreeze. Turn the pump on, and wait till you have flow out the ex before you start the boat. Stop the boat before the bucket runs dry. If you have a shower turn it on also to flush the water out of it.

not sure if you will be able to get it to "suck". I think the easiest way to get the antifreeze in there is just to pull the raw water hose intake and dump it in there. I don't think there is any way you need to use 8 gallons that way (i could be wrong though, i have FWC so i am not flushing the whole system). I thought I remember before FWC only using a little more than 2 gallons though.

and tracy, definetly go with the flushpro, i have fake a lake and flushpro, and have not used the fake a lake in 8 years. (and for some reason I still can't make my flushpro "suck" though).
