I wonder what Malibu would charge me for this upgrade.

This would be one bad boy in a wakesetter, you could do away with the rear hard tanks and give us back all that room in the rear lockers. One can dream anyways.

I wonder what that thing weighs.

Only a skier would be concerned about that :-). They are already adding thousands of pounds of ballast, whats a few more pounds.

What is the hammerhead's torque?

At full throttle I think it would push so hard you would start digging the nose pretty bad. With 1000 lb or Torque woudl be a big prop.

What would you estimate at the gas consumption?

0 gallons per hour.

Diesel consumption, on the other hand......

That 5.9 engine would be awesome in any Wakesetter even thou the tq would be out of hand for it, it would be too long to fit in the engine compartment. The smaller 4 cylinder engine will be better fitted and with a better fuel economy curve.

OH Cummins engine rule!!!

Why not just buy an old turbine engine and install that??

1400-1800hp turbine engines,

Here is a 44' boat with twin 1450hp's

Surely there is a way to fit one of these into a ski boat? I have seen Jay leno has one on a motorcycle, why not a ski boat.

I used to subscribe to HotBoat Magazine. I remember an article they did about a guy who put an old helicopter turbine in a 20' boat. I remember him saying that not only was it fast, it got a lot of attention around the dock when he fired it up.

We just had the newest Littoral Combat Ship delivered to the U.S. Navy. It has twin turbine engines with 48,000 HP a piece. Of course the ship does weigh 3,000 tons and is 300ft long.....

I've tried to offer to wakeboard behind this... but apparently it's not allowed. I think I could ride 200 feet behind... considering the wake is 15+ feet tall...
