Throttle handle

Air Force 1

Recommended Posts

Is there a screw or adjustment I can tighten on my throttle handle to keep it from backing off when I am at slower speeds. It just started doing this the last couple of outings? When you take your hand off the throttle it doesn't stay where you left it, it falls back and slows down. Doesn't seem to do it at faster speeds...... Dontknow.gif

Thanks,

AF1

I have the same problem in my 07 Sunscape 23 lsv. I asked the dealer about it and he told me it is a safety feature that Malibu puts in their throttle assemblies. Apparently it is if you fall asleep at the wheel or are intoxicated (which of course the latter never happens!!) The dealer put a slightly stronger spring in so my throttle is a little better, but when I hit a larger wave, it backs off. Hope this helps

I would accept that, but I have had the boat for 6 months and it just started doing it? I am not even sure they would have that feature on a 94, more than likely on the newer models though.....

Thanks

To try to hold speed better since I don't have P.P., I added a spring to pull the throttle open slightly. It opposes the butterfly's return spring tension. Here's how I Jury rigged-it up.
