PCV Valve on a Moonsoon Engine

Recommended Posts

OK. So I am changing the oil on my V-drive Malibu (Monsoon 335) and I notice that the PCV valve on the port side valve cover is out completely. I try to put it back in and I can't do it. No matter how I move it around it seems that a portion of the engine under the Monsoon cover (I think that is called the plenum) is in the way, preventing me from putting the PCV valve back in.

Does anyone know how I can get this thing back in?

I put a 90 degree connector on mine to get it to fit under the plenum. Then the hose also reached the air filter.

Mine has a 90 degree connector but it seems that it is too long and interferiors with a part of the engine slightly above and behind the opening in the valve cover.

I was interested in taking the plenum off to see if that helped in some way but when I removed the 6 socket head cap screws that hold the cover down I still could not budge the cover. Any suggestions on that would also be appreciated.

Don't take off the plenum.

You have to just force that pcv valve in at an angle.

I have been trying but I can't seem to generate enough force to get it in at the angle created by the interference with the object behind it. Any suggestions on how to get it in?

I can't remember but that plenum has a lip so you can acutally go from behind (closer to the injectors) and get it in.

Again, I'm going from memory. They are always a pain but they always seem to go in .
