SHIFT CABEL ADJUSTMENT

BYRON SHEFFIELD

Recommended Posts

Here is how I did mine,

Make certain the throttle is really it the neutral position before you start.

Take the throttle cable connector off of the shifting arm at the transmission and hold it to the side of the arm.

Find the sweet spot of the center “click” for absolute neutral by moving the arm on tranny both ways and back a few times to get it dead on in the middle.

Then adjust the end connector on the cable back or forth to perfectly match the location of the tranny arm in the neutral position.

There may be a little “slop” in the throttle cable, so make sure that the engaging point either way (forward and backward) are the same.

Reattach the cable connector to the arm and make sure the lock nut and or locking collar on the cable connector is secure.
