What is the winterization procedure? I've heard you need a vaccuum pump and that the filters are a B%$ch? One dealer admited he doesnt change look at the filters.

The delaer takes care of the filter, but as far as winter storage goes the manual says:

"it should be topped off through the dip stick hole with ATF to prevent the unit from corrosion."

Also, "to change the fluid when putting the unit into operation again."

The first 4 seasons I had my boat, I dropped the bottom cover to expose the filter. Every time it was spotless. Now I just remove the fluid with a turkey baster from the top and replace the same amount. I might check the filter every 4 years or so in the future.
