Can someone please tell me the difference between a LSV and a VLX? Is it the hull type? Also does anyone know when Malibu first offered a diamond hull in the Wakesetter model? Thanks!

this might help you, along the top of each page you will see some headings, home, forums and "Tech/DIY", if you click on Tech/DIY and scroll down to hull specifications there may be some information in there that will answer your questions, or you can just click this link and go there: Hull Specifications

other than that, i can't help you.

When referring to a 21 foot Malibu, the acronym LSV (which stands for "luxury sport V")

is synonymous with the Sunscape, or at least it has been since 2002. The Sunscape has

always been built on the diamond hull. The VLX, on the other hand, up until 2006, IIRC,

was always built on the wake hull. Beginning in 2006, it was possible to order the VLX

with either the V25 wake or V25 diamond hull, though the vast majority were built on the

wake hull.

So, the main difference between the LSV and the VLX is that the VLX comes completely

loaded with tower, bimini, built-in ballast, and the wedge. The LSV comes without these

options, though it can be ordered with any or all of them for an extra a-la-carte charge.

I think he was talking about a "Wakesetter LSV".. which comes with the same features as a VLX.... only differance is length. So the answer to the question is... how many people do you take out on the lake and how big of a boat do you want?
