VTX CD vs. FXI

The VTX on the CD will be the better crossover due to the larger onboard ballast of 1250lbs vs. 400lbs in the rear of the FXI. THe FXI, just a guess here, is probably a slightly better slalom machine but still not a RLXI. If you primarily ski the FXI probably is a better choice conversly, if you wakeboard more or plan on surfing the VTX would be the better choice. The best way to determine is test drive boat for all the watersports you plan on doing.

As a slalom guy, I would be very interested to see a review of the Fxi by someone that has a chance to ski behind it. Everyone bragged about how good the VTX was on the CD hull and I am wondering if the Fxi will be even better and how it will compare to the Rlxi.

I looked at the FXI at a dealer and was a bit sad at how far back the tower (illusion I think) was mounted. It will get hit by the rope if the skier gets very wide on the boat... It looked like a great rec. ski boat but my guess is that if you want a slalom boat you would get the FXI with no tower (or maybe a different style tower) or more likely you will stick with the LXI.

The Titan III tower is by far the best choice for the FXi and LXi. It is out of the way of the Slalom rope.

It is also the best choice for the VTX if you want to use a boom for barefooting or teaching kids. The tower boom works great on the VTX with the Titan III. Yes, the tower boom is tougher to put on than a pylon mounted boom but with 2 people it really isn't that bad.
