Esso XD-3 Extra 0W-40

Anyone think that the 0w40 is too thin? 2007 Monsoon and I have been using the castrol diesel 15w40 and now have 150 hrs and would like to go to synthetic and this is a good price at the local walmart and I have been using it in my turbo diesel car for years. Just curious if the 0w40 is good for the monsoon or not?

It is still a 40 wieght oil that will flow better while the oil is still cold, but I would doubt it is as robust as a 15W-40 light duty diesel oil (like the Castrol) once at operating temperature.

electricjohn, thanks for the reply. would it be less robust even if it has the API CH-4 plus rating.

I have attached the pdf link as I think it's only available in Canada and I buy in bulk for my turbo diesel, so I have a lot of it, but only want the best for the BU.

thanks, for any comments EJ.
