Help with heater core install

I had to pull the heater core out a few weeks ago (major leak). I connected the heater hoses together with a 1/2 pipe and put a piece of tape to indicate the hose that went on the top nipple of the core. Tape fell off and I don't know which line should go to the top or bottom heater core nipples. I have a 2004 Response LXI with a 340 Monsoon. Any help would be appreciated. Yesterday morning at 7:00 it was in the high 40's here in New England.

from a operational standpoint i would not think it makes enough difference to make it worth discussing.

i did mark each end on one of the hoses so i could tell which was lower for winterizing purposes.

my logic is that if i use a vacuum to drain the core i would like to drain from the low fitting.

It doesn't make a difference for the heater core, but if you want to know which is which for whatever reason:

Unhook which ever hose is easier, at the motor, and have someone talk into it while you're up under the dash.
