Fuel Pressure on 1999 Response

Recommended Posts

I recently got some good advice from people on this site regarding problems I am having with my 1999 Response. It has a 325 hp Indmar Monsoon. Based upon some of the advice, I think my problem is fuel pressure. I replaced the fuel filter and bought a fuel pressure gauge. I am currently getting about 38 to 40 PSI. Is that low? Does that mean I need a new fuel pump? Thanks in advance.

It should hold pressure for quite a while. I know most FI cars hold pressure in there for days. That is how they start so fast, not having to reprime the fuel lines with pressure. If you leave the guage on it and you can watch it drop then you have a leaking fuel pressure regulator, or pump.

Thanks for that info. Mine seems to drop within 30 to 45 seconds. I have always had a slight stumble when taking off and I suspect its probably because of a leaky fuel regulator.
