Rusty Wedge Bolts?

Recommended Posts

The screws in mine were 5/16-18x1 phillips flat heads. I did get a response from Malibu to my question "which screws are the right screws". I didn't get an answer, but he did say to send my wedge in and I will get a new one back "that will likely have a finer thread pitch tapped into the arms." I thought that was sorta odd considering I don't have a problem now and I was just asking to prevent a problem based on all the posts.

On my first service, the SM noticed the rusting bolts, and warrantied the whole wedge since the rust had discolored the foil.  On my next service, 2 of the 4 were rusted again.  He replaced them, and none are rusting now.  Guess I finally got the good ones.

When did you get this done? Brian told me in July not to change yet and to wait until my winter service.

I did drive by and the new building looks like it coming along.

Greg,

My first service, and wedge replacement was I believe, in about April or May. The most recent time was about 5 weeks ago, when they replaced the couple rusted ones. Like I said, seems like the right ones now.

do you have to go all the way up to paradise for that?

Madchild,

I was there for my first service (50 hrs), so they took care of that and a bunch of little things. The second time, when they replaced the couple rusted bolts was for my 100 hr service (past due). I would not drive all the way up there just for the bolts. I am sure they would ship them to you.
