Water temp gauge and speedo problems

Recommended Posts

Well now I'm glad I joined this forum, cuz I'm having a little problem with the water temp gauge and the speedo. Speedo doesn't register anything and the water temp gauge always reads 37 degrees F. I have the boat on a lift but cannot see underneath to look at the paddlewheel, I assume they are related it only seems that the water temp gauge should also be in that vicinity. Thanks for any suggestions.

I added PerfectPass and the paddle wheel to our '00 SLXi this year. The temp pickup is in the paddle wheel unit somewhere. Maybe the lead from the paddle wheel came loose? Or the paddle wheel needs to be replaced?

I think in 03 they were two separate pieces of hardware. I have a paddlewheel and a probe on the bottom of the hull.

can anyone tell me how sensitive (or maybe tough might be more appropriate) the paddlewheel is? I want to add one to my PP system, but my boat sits on an AirDock. I was wondering if it can take some rubbing getting on/off the lift. Also there will be some weight resting on it, although it is not alot, and there is some give to the lift.

thanks.
