Found something that went thump

Recommended Posts

I didn't want to steal the log thunder and the ripped off fin story so I started a new thread. I was cruising along in 70 foot deep water and hit "something" I killed the throttle and the boat died. It rattled a little bit as I shut it down. However after taking inventory and swimming under the boat I fired it up and it seemed fine. I popped her up on the lift and nothing even was scratched. It seemed to run fine but I didn't have time to really run it hard. I ran it for about fifteen minutes. Should I be worried about anything? I went over the prop, fins and the bottom and saw NOTHING! I have never hit anything in ten years on this lake and of course, I get a new boat and "THUMP"...

My friends say I would know if something was wrong....A nervous papa I am....

If you hit a soggy log slighly off center so that it doesn't hit the running gear it can make a pretty good thump but not even leave so much as a scratch depending on where it hits and how soggy it is.
