fuel gauge acting erratic sometimes

The fuel needle on my 02 23xti has vibrated erratically spins all the way around and then stops below E. It has done this about 5 or 6 times in the past few weeks? If I shutdown the engine and restart all is fine again and works accurately. Could my fuel sender be going bad?

It could be that your sender is going bad, but it could also be that your cannon plug needs to be pulled out, cleaned up a bit, and plugged back in. I had similar issues with my temp gauge and gas gauge earlier this year, and that was my problem. Do a search for cannon plug and you'll see what I'm talking about.
