Transmission Knocking Sound

We have a '96 RLX with a Monsoon 320. Just recently we've noticed that there is a knocking noise coming from the transmission when at idle. When we speed the boat up, the noise seems to disappear (or at least we can't hear it). Any ideas as to what this could be? Searching online it seems as though this might be a common problem with Hurth transmissions. Hopefully there's something we can do to fix it though. Any help would be appreciated.

The damper plate can cause this noise when it goes bad. It has springs like a clutch disc for a manual automotive transmission. Over time they start to separate and make noise.
