Pop-up Cleats

I've decided I'd like to install a pair of pop-up cleats on either side of the rear of my boat. I've been using the rear grab handles but my upholstery is starting to get marred up. For those who have them what brands/sizes have you been happy with? Also, do you have them mounted on the horizontal surface or more on the side of the boat so they are vertical? Thanks.

In my opinion you should have your dealer get you a set of the Malibu cleats. The look right with the boat and work just great. We have one set in the back and one set towards the front. You can mount them on the top rail if you really want to, but the factory mounts them on the sides.

I bought the 4-1/2" Attwood neat cleat from firstchoicemarine.com . If you include the backing plate, they are about $50 each.

Thus far, I am pleased with the size, function and look of them. I mounted them in the same place as the factory does.

I had my dealer get me 4 of them (2 front, 2 rear) and install them. IMO you can't beat their look. They say MALIBU on the face. They look and function great!

I used the Atwood m4-1/2" on the fronts and the 6" on the backs. I mounted on the side like factory in the front and on the top by the rear seat in the back and love em!

I think I paid about $170 for al 4 from Heckels' Marine in Moisinee, Wi.
