Thermostat

Hey guys. Could someone help with a picture or explanation where the thermostat housing is on a monsoon 340 engine. I just replaced the raw water pump and want to do the thermostat but not sure where it is. Also an easy how to on this please. Enjoy the warm weather guys and again thanks.

The T-stat is on the very top of the motor in the front (fan belt side). It's directly above the raw water pump and has sort of an oval shape with 2 bolt heads one on either side. It has at least 2 hoses going to it and maybe 3 IIRC.

JRO, unless you are having issues with temp, don't bother changing the thermostat. More folks create problems by changing the t-stat than solve problems. :)

Just a friendly word of advice -

Hi, we are on Canandaigua Lake. I must say it is a jewel. The water is great and super clean with zero weeds and super deep to boot. Hope your kids have fun up at Gradma's not to mention you must be having a blast. Enjoy your summer.

Well that is the thing. My temp warms up to 175-180 then right down and holds 170 steady when the t-stat opens. I figure it should hold 160. no? Any Ideas.
