Tear on the seats

Recommended Posts

I was cleaning the interior from a nice weekend out on the water. I have a 2002 Sunscape LSV and the main vinyl color is white with light grey and a red accent color to give it the design. Anyway, I noticed what looked like dirt right at the seam where the red accent seperates the white from the grey, so I sprayed some cleaner and whiped in the seam. I felt it give a little and moved my towel away and it had torn the white vinyl from the red accent piece. Not too happy.

What are my options to repair this? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I am scared that if anyone sits on it or puts a knee on it, it will get worse.

Is this easily fixed at the dealer and is it cheap?

Thanks

Terry

If you have one tear, there's a good bet that more are soon to come.

If you are gonna have the dealer do repairs, get it done soon becasue I believe Malibu/dealer will only fix upholstery of 7-year old boats and newer. Yours is getting close to the cut-off. Otherwise, Chee can hook you up with skins, but you (or another shop) will do the install.

Good luck.

You were saying that after 7 years you can't get the skin's for your boat or you have to go thru "Chee". My boat is a 2000. How would I go about getting new vinyl skins for it?

Thanks,

Chee Mauo is his name. His contact number is 209-564-6202. I believe this is his cell number.

Also, do a Forum search in Modifications and use the search term "Chee".
