where is the fill hole for ballast?

Trying to learn more about ballasts. Where is the fill hole for the ballasts I assume on the bottom of the hull. What stops water from coming in once you hit the switch off. I assume that there must be a great deal of pressure on the hole where the water comes in? Any info pics will be greatly appreciated.

Yes the holes are on the bottom. There is very little pressure since it's not much below the water line. Your pump is what keeps water from coming in.
