pump for oil change

Recommended Posts

changed oil on the LSV first time Saturday myself. It has been dealer serviced up to this point, mostly because it has been to the dealer for other things, stereo install, etc. and my local dealer had a speeding problem, I'm an attorney, you do the math.

Anyway - could not find a drain plug under the engine, nor I could I see where the plug at the transom enters the boat. This is kind of a separate issue, but where does the plug under the wedge go?

Finally dropped it out the speedo pickup hole. Could not get any oil to come out. rigged up a sipohn bulb from an outboard gas tank with electrical tape, and had it pumped in no time.

Can someone point to a pump that threads onto that hose end?

Thanks

The plug under the wedge just goes right through the transom and you can see it on the inside if you look really hard, it might be behind your bilge pump. As far as a fitting to go on the end of the oil hose, I just measured the size of that male threaded end and went to Home Depot and matched it up. I don't remember what size it is but, it's NPF. National Pipe Thread which means it's tapered. It might be 1/2" ?
