Removing throttle grease

Recommended Posts

Having a constant problem with grease "oozing" from the neutral lockout button (throttle warm-up button) on my 2002 Sunscape (morse control MV-3). We had always had grease "oozing" out - not alot but this grease (gray) is impossible (at least to me) to remove. Carb cleaner is the only thing that will touch it but that will destroy the vinyl and also seems to remove the black color from the plastic housing. Anyone having this problem? Has anyone found a cleaner that will remove the grease and not harm the plastic and vinyl? I have tried all the citrus based cleaners, goof-off, simple green, degreasers, cleaners, etc. Thanks for any and all help!

I have had the same problem since day 1 with my '00, except it doesn't really ooze, and my is more orangish (almost rust like). I suspect that mine is more hardened or something from the salt air. since mine doesn't ooze, i kind of learned to live with it.
