What is the best ballast setup for wake boarding and surfing on the Classic Sunsetter LXI. Just looking for idea for when I do pull the trigger.

Depends on how big of a wake you want & how much you're willing to risk going over weight...

Often - the wedge and a locker sack are a good start for boarding. More weight up front will make the wake firmer & more rampy than just the wedge.

If you reinforce the trunk floor, you can put ballast in there & some more weight around bow & some sacks on either side of the engine.

It seems to like about 30 - 40% of the weight up front.

Not sure for surfing - haven't tried it. JSP wasn't really happy with the wave he was able to get on his SLXi.

For boarding: Wedge, 600lbs in rear trunk (reinforced), 600 up front (I have 300 in locker and 300 under filler cushion)

For surfing: Wedge, 600lbs rear trunk, 300 in locker, 400 surf side rear floor, and 5-6 people all on the gunnel from front to back. It makes a huge difference having everyone along the gunnel vs having everyone in the surf side corner or rear.

The wakes are ok, not great but definately rideable.

I do a very similar set up. I've never had any complaints about my surf wake and most people can surf it with no rope.
