Surfin with the kids

My little bro came to town with his wife and FIVE kids for the Fourth. They all wanted to try surfing and they loved it.

We even got my two year old up with me. He was a bit hesitant at first, but after the first ride he said "again dad! again!!"

Here's a few pics of the fun. Was also a great way to test out the weight capabilities of my boards. :)

Very cool! I just did this a few weeks ago with a friend's kid for the first time. It made me want to keep my board for when my son wants to go!

Very cool. How are you starting and getting up with the kids?

I just put them between my legs and have them rest their legs on the board with their knees bent in. Put my legs on the outside of theirs.

Then just kind of squeeze them between my arms and lift them up from under their armpits as I get up.

Here's a pic of our two year old getting ready. :)

Aweseome pics smed! So which boards are you riding in those pictures?

Thanks WG!

The pink board is a prototype of the Barracuda (or Warthog) I made for my wife. pink-fish-web-mini.jpg

The white board is my "Wombat" adjustable quad fin design that the wife and I have both ridden in a couple of competitions this summer.
