99 BoatMate Wheel bearings

Recommended Posts

So last night on the way home from the river I heard a funny noise.... my inner bearing on one side is gone Cry.gif

We pulled everything apart and got some new bearings. When starting to put things back together we had some trouble the inner bearing went on fine but it seemed to have a little play side to side. like it is too narrow for the grove, not much maybe a 16th. I was ok with that at least to get the thing home. then we tried to put the inner race in the hub. No go, it is like a 32nd too big. Do I have the wrong bearings? It was the only set even remotely close.

Any help or thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks

try freezing the race for a couple hours before you attempt to install it. It may also help to put some heat in the hub while somebody fetches the race. They might even slip together, but at the very least it'll be an easier project.
