New Boat Lift Adjustment

I purchased a Floe boat lift and have some concerns about the bunk location. My boat is a 1993 Eschelon Open Bow. The dealer set the bunks about 40 inches wide, so the bunk on either side is approximately 2-6 inches outside the hull chine. My concern is this is about 8-12 inches outside the main stringers.

Should the bunk be set so it is directly under the main stringer and minimizes the load supported by fiberglass structure in the hull? Anyone have experience or knowledge in this area?
