Max rpms on 320 Monsoon

Would like to know what the max rpm is on a 320 Monsoon. I have a 4 blade prop and was running about 5,000 rpm this weekend and was wondering if that was too much.

I have the same motor. I have been told by several sources that 5000 rpm and WOT(wide open throttle) is pretty much the ceiling for that motor. I have also heard that 5100 is the ceiling. I am sure some other folks will chime in with their knowledge on this thread.

I was told by the dealer you will hit the rev limiter when it's maxed out. I have reved mine to 5400 and not pegged it yet.

That sounds similar to what I have experienced with a 4 blade on the Monsoon. A three blade will probably pick up the top end RPM to around 5200 and allow a bit more top speed. A small block Chevy can handle 5000 rpm.
