anyone have any big cons for the fresh air exhaust system?????

i know there may be issues with the wedge being in the way.

don't they look like they would be pretty easy to make on your own or am i mistaken???

any other quick fixes for noise reduction while boarding????

I will be putting one on. I like to surf and I like the idea of reducing emissions that the surfer is inhaling. I have also heard that they are the best investment for allowing you to hear your tower speakers. In other words, they quiet down the exhaust note enough to where you can hear your tower speakers better. I like the sound of my boat, but I think I would rather hear my music better. They look pretty easy to make, there is a discussion going on on wakeworld.com One of the users there made one for his Sanger. I don't have a Wedge, so that doesn't concern me. Here is the thread: http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/message...html?1215374550

Me being the eternal pessimist...ROFL.gif

What about restriction of exhaust flow? I am no scientist, but have worked with cars/motorcycles, etc...long enough to know that if you take 2 (likely 3.5-4") pipes and funnel them down into 1 that is less than overall diameter of ONE of the dual exhaust ports...I would suspect that performance would be dampened. I do really like the "idea" but would have to be re-engineered to get my attention.

Just my $.02/worth,

That and the extra restrictions of having to push the exhaust gasses out into water versus pushing them out to air. Perhaps there's a venturi effect when underway to eliminate this pressure...

Probably is a venturi effect, I betcha.

I had a guy who had surfed behind SEVERAL boats and commented, that when he was on the deck of mine, the exhaust gases weren't burning his eyes. He thought it has to do with the transom protector forming a pseudo-channel and forcing the gases UNDER the deck since the gap between the deck and the boat was being filled. :Dunno: Makes sense to me.

I made this one for my Supra. They are not to hard to make, had seeburg do some of the bending in nkc. They are great for surfing but do have a small rooster tail for boarding. SupraPics009.jpg
