Impeller Housing

Recommended Posts

Need some help guys. I just replaced the impeller this year and always checking for leaks. When the engine is on a costant drip comes from the housing (not the cap/front) where the impeller goes in but where the housing is attahched to the engine block/turn shaft. When the engine is off it will leak less but still a drop every few seconds. Is this normal and could you guys check to see if yours leaks. This is on an 02 Wakesetter VLX Monsoon engine. Any advise or help would be great.

sounds like the bearing in the pump is going. i am pretty sure they have a weep hole to tell you when its time to replace.

R U saying when the bearing is gone it starts to drip from the weep hole? If it is gone is it an easy fix and where does one get the parts? Can it be done while in the water? Thanks.

last time it happened to me, i just bought a new pump, rather than having the old rebuilt (haven't had to do it to my BU, did have to do it to an MC, but i think my BU is going now, its squealing, but not leaking yet).

SKIDIM should have what you need.
