Malibu Cruise taking off

Recommended Posts

I've go an 07 VLX with Hammerhead. This AM, about 1/2 of the time we did a turnaround while boarding, the boat came out of the turn and took off from the 23mph set point up to 27-30 mph. At one point, we let it go about 1/2 mile and it never came back. We stopped the boat and restarted and the speed control was OK, until another turnaround. Some of these turnarounds were tighter than others, could it be that the computer gets confused in a tight turn and gets lost? Anyone else have this happen?

There are others here with more experience with this issue who will chime in shortly. However, I believe it has to do with reduced water flow over the paddlewheel while in the turn. Can't remember how folks have dealt with it. It may be that you have to manually reduce throttle as it does this and then allow it to re-engage.

I agree with the reduced water flow over the paddle wheel during the turn. I didn;t clarify that when we straightened out, the speedo was reading correctly at 28-30mph, so it seemed the the paddlewheel was then back to normal. For now we will go with the throttle pullback and see if that works. thanks
