Slalom Ski recommendation

My daughter has been using an old (borrowed) 61" Connely HP performance ski and the binding has gone bad. She's skiing at 28 or 30 mph in the course and runs the trainers without trouble. She's starting to go for the full bouys and has gotten six and close to the one ball. I need to get her something soon. Her older sisters ski a 65" Radar Theory but that's too big for her. I'm considering the O'Brien Allegiance Jr. (62") or the Obrien synchro (63"). D3 has a 62" Nomad Jr. but that's $799 for the blank and I don't think I want to fork out that kind of money for her (that's more expensive than my setup!).

Any recommendations?

This might be a good ski. It would need a new binding but it should rip for your daughter. If my kids weren't heavier I would have bought this my self.

My kids weigh about 100 pounds and I got a used HO Odyssey which is 63". I looked into the Synchro and was going to buy that until I got a great deal on the HO. Those two skis are a little wider which is good for the slower speeds for the kids to run the course.

My 9 year old is running the full course at speeds in the high teens to low 20s. There is jump they need to make to get more angle when going to the full course from the trainer bouys so slowing the speed down helps. Have you been running your daughter at short line in the trainer course? That can help get a feel for the angle that is needed.

I'd normally say go for an HO Judge but if she's already on a slalom ski and trying to run course (full or hlaf mini course ?) just go straight to the HO Revolt.

The 63.5" Revolt is the exact same mold as the 63.5" System 8 & Monza however it's laid up a little softer and is a lot softer on your wallet too Clap.gif

It isn't mine but there is a used Revolt on eBay. If my kids were lighter I would buy it.

Thanks for the heads up - I bid on it but didn't get it. I ordered the synchro and it will be delivered to the lake house Thursday. It may be a bit big for her but is likely perfect for my 95 lb 12 year old. I'm hoping they both can find it up to the task!
