I don't know, but I did the same thing on Fri night. We went out for an evening cruise at Melones and got back about 8pm. When I went to tie off the bow in the slip I burned my arm. DAMN! that thing was hot...

I feel your pain!

I put in a LED from Superbright. Makes green look bluegreen but no heat. I'm keeping the LED in.
Same here. I got mine form either Superbright or Autolumination.

so how do you know what size to get and do they just plug in to the socket that is in there?

I would take out the old buld and measure the lenght to be sure, I think there 31mm. Link to Festoon bulbs.

  • 1 year later...
My bu has the "aqua signal" flip up series 24 light.

I am pretty sure the bulb had gone bad...it was always somewhat intermittent, and died after a big wave hit.

I opened up the light to look into a replacement, and the bulb broke (not a good sign of bulb health).

Anyway....anybody know much about what a factory replacement bulb would cost and how to order it?

Would a LED work...and if so what I should order?

Also, I lost the screw that holds the red/green cover. Any idea what size this little item is so I can get another?

Thanks all.

Call Bakes Marine and they will get you what you need, parts or info. They might be closed on Mondays though.

I created a new topic for this since I thought it might be of general interest. Added information on the bulb type per my dealer.
