Plumbing Fatsac into rear ballast

Recommended Posts

Hi, i purchased a 2007 Malibu a few month ago and absolutley love it. Thanks for this website and forum.

I have been checking into plumbing an 800lb fatsac into the left rear compartment, I lifted the floorboard and tried plumbing the fatsac into the factory ballast

I followed PAINTERDREWS(Thanks Drew) pictures, slightly different but about the same I ran into issues with the sac not filling up and draining all the way the sac would fill up about 3/4 then start shooting out the overflow out of the side of the boat.

Does anyone have a more indepth way to do this, pictures advice or anything i would appriciate it

Thanks in advance

Seems to me that as soon as the water level in the sac got above the level of the overflow hole, the pressure would push water over the side. A fix I could come up with right now would be to re plumb the overflow with a hose that goes above the top of the (full) sac, eliminating the issue.

Thanks for the reply i am going to brainstorm tommorrow and take a look at it i might end up plumbing the overflow into the sac so that way when the hard tank fills it just overflows into the sac i am not sure yet this turned out to be a P.I.T.A project in my head it seamed simple once i got into it ive been workin on it for 2 days trying to get this to work flawlessly where the bag gets filled all the way up nice and tight and drains all the way lol seems like im gonna be workin on this for a few more weeks at this pace

Would it be possible to set it up so the hard tank overflows into the sac and the sac overflows overboard? That's how I would do it, if I could.

You would have to put a port at the top of the sac, I don't know if this is doable. I don't actually know anything about this stuff, I'm just using theory.
