Oil Changes

Recommended Posts

Indmar manual suggests every 50 hours or once a year change intervals. I think the type of oil may vary with what engine your have from Indmar. I suspect the brand will not matter much, as long as you use the right type and viscosity. I think my dealer changes mine with penzoil.

I do mine every 50 hours.

During the break-in period it is recommended to use standard Oil. You can then go to Synthetic after the break-in if you so desire.

I use Mobile1 15w50 Synthetic.

Has it changed? because I thought that it was suggested to NOT switch to synthetic until 100 hours.

Indmar doesn't recommend running synthetic period, since we don't don't prolong oilchaged in these boats synthetic is useless. Spend the money you'll save on gas.

You are correct. I wasn't thinking. My cousin bought a BRAND new 2008. The dealer said that he can run Synthetic in it after 100 hours. Whether that is recommended by Indmar or not, I do not know. You can always contact Indmar and ask. They are very helpful.
