this is my friend's cabin between Milwaukee and Madison. Our pier is now underwater, but we're on a hill a ways back on a lake that is kind of upstream parent of the rest of tthem in the area. We aren't dealing with much flooding but high water, the people downstream I feel for them.

As mentioned, without some type of "flood" insurance, your standard homeowner's policies CLEARLY exclude damage from surface water.

Wow. What lake is that? I haven't been out west to check out any of the lakes but I've heard from friends in Pewaukee that they're swimming on main street in front of the village shops.

Okauchee is over our pier, usually a good foot or more out of the water. My son loves it, he can sit on the deck and splash like a maniac.

The lake in the picture is Lower Genesee or maybe middle, I can't remember anymore.
