quick fix for wet box leak?????

Recommended Posts

hi,

I need a quick fix for the leak in the wet box. I have seen the forum showing how to glass it up properly and I will be doing this in a few weeks but I need a quick fix until then cause today I was informed that it is against the rules to release any bilge water in the river where we ski and I release every five minutes. what would be better, silicone or epoxy putty to seal the join between the floor and hull.

thanks

Only thing I know you can do is clean the inside of the box as much as possible. Get some quick drying 5200 marine sealant and spread all around the inside of the box seams. This is what First Class fiberglass in St Louis did to mine the first time they claimed to fix the boat. It worked for about a year. Then I had to have a shaft log installed to permanently fix it.
