2006 Monsoon and V-Drive to replace a 1998?

Recommended Posts

Will a 2006 Monsoon and V-Drive mount into a 1998 Sunsetter VLX without modification (ie motor mounts, etc) or am I looking at having to modify things?

How about the electronics and throttle from the 98? Will I need to make changes there as well?

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

06 had the newer V-drive/tranny so you would need to pull that tranny and put on your hurth/walters v-drive combo. Then it should line right up.

Also you will need to upgrade the gauge package and MDC, if your getting this from a salvage boat then you could take that stuff too, but all the new gauges are 5.5" instead of your 3.5" dash.

Those were in WA though, and they were LCR motors IIRC.

LOTS of junked boats up around here, a bunch of buildings collapsed this winter with boats inside them due to snow loads. Perfect canidates for motor swaps.
