Filling 2 sacs with one pump

Well iam picking up 2 400lb sacs for the rear lockers.Can i fill them both with one pump and then empty them both with another?I was thinking i could add a valve to fill only one for surfing.Reasoning It would be cleaner with just 2 pumps.

What do you mean by cleaner? Are you talking about installing the pumps with thru-hulls? If that's the case, I don't see why it would be any cleaner with just 2 pumps versus 4. In fact, IMO it would be less clean because you would have to do a manifold or something. It would be cheaper, but not by much. You can get 1100 gph pumps for 25 or 30 bucks apiece, so cost shouldn't be an issue. And once you've drilled 2 holes in the hull, it's nothing to drill 2 more. The first hole is the hardest!

I use one 1100 gph pump to fill my ski locker sac and extemporaneous bow sac at the same time.

The pump has a 1" out that goes to a Gilmour Full Flow shutoff valve. One out goes to the ski locker sac and one connects to a 3/4" hose that can fill any sac in the boat.

The Gilmour Full Flow Y valve is from Lowes next to the water hoses. Make sure its the high output version.

Brad, are you just moving a hose around from bag to bag off one pump?

Sometimes - if I'm too lazy to drag out a drop over the side pump.

But usually we will use that one and a drop over to fill ballast.

We fill two sacs under the seats and the big triangle in the bow with non plumbed methods.

Well i was thinking fewer wires, fewer pumps just less clutter overall.I would just y off the 2 pumps for fill and emptying of both bags so i wouldnt need a manifold, i'd also use an existing thru hull.Iam just feeling lazy lately and trying to cut the work in half Whistling.gif

Well I thought about it some more and ordered 4 pumps,I like the idea of faster filling times and controlling them both from the drivers seat :Thumbup:I'll just stash the pumps best i can , then man up enough to drill holes in the bottom of my boat Crazy.gif .now a search for some thru hull fittings and shutoff valves. :) I was hoping to make this quick and easy oh well.

Cervelo's link is a good one for the Tsunami's ... Keep in mind that the fitting on the Tsunami can be a pain because it's 1-1/8" inch. I bought all my fill pumps from this guy:

Rule pumps

He'll group them together for you to save on shipping. The Rule's are good because they fit into a 3/4" fitting. They're a touch slower than the Tsunami's.
