fuel alarm

Recommended Posts

I was reading my owners manual for my 04 Sporster today. I came across a paragragh that was very interesting. According to the manual, there is an alarm that is activated when the fuel level in the tank gets low. The fuel gauge in my boat is very inaccurate. It reads empty when in fact there is over 1/2 a tank of fuel left. But if you are on the lake and the gauge reads empty for a while, it gets scary and you head for the nearest fuel dock. But it takes only 15 to 18 gallons to fill back up. The tank is 38 gallons. If I knew there was an alarm when the fuel is low, it would put my mind at rest. Does anyone know if there actually is an alarm on the Sporster? The manual is rather vague, as it lists several options that are not on all the Malibu models. So I do not know if there is an alarm on a Sporster? Please help

I don't think there is a low fuel level alarm, and if there was it would have to work on the sender which your gague works from (therefore it should be going off all the time)

Fill up and figure for 5 gal/hour and watch your hour meter, much better way of doing it.
