No Power!!

Recommended Posts

Ive got a '96 Sunsetter that I purchased this past winter. I have been on the water about 6 times since March with the last run being about 4 weeks ago. Today when I got past the no wake buoy I opened her up and she had no power. I was loaded up with 7 people and about 900 pounds of ballast and I could barely take off. I could only get about 32 mph and 3250 rpm's out of it. The last time out I had the same exact load and she ran perfect and would yank you right out of the water. Today was a different story. Also when in neutral and revving the engine the rpms slowly climbed, very unresponsive! I did run it pretty low on fuel last month so Im thinking I may have some trash in the fuel filter. Im hoping thats the problem. Any suggestions and if more than 1 where is the fuel filter(s) located? The engine is a 5.7 TBI.

Thanks,

Brian

With TBI you can look into the throttle body and observe the injectors spray pattern. But I would do the filters first.
