1998 Malibu Response LX Shower Parts

Recommended Posts

After having my 9 year old son and his best friend wakeboarding for the 1st time this season two days ago, I've decided to go ahead and replace the heater core and find the missing parts for the shower/heater on my boat. My son's friend shattered and spit out all of his teeth due to shivvering in the water. I ordered the heater core at this link for $96.58:

http://www.fisheriessupply.com/online/ln_m...1E4D53F7E05678B

It is the 3-vent heater core. The 4-vent is even cheaper. Much cheaper than the boat dealers I spoke with.

Here's my questions for you guys:

1) Is the grey line on the port side of my boat with the air-hose type fitting the shower hose?

2) Where can I get / fabricate a shower head since there isn't one with the boat?

3) One of the air hoses is shot. Where can I find the ~3" hose

4) Do you have any pics of the shower head?

Thanks again for you help!

2) Where can I get / fabricate a shower head since there isn't one with the boat? - The fitting is the same thread size as your garden hose

3) One of the air hoses is shot. Where can I find the ~3" hose - Heatercraft.com or an RV store

4) Do you have any pics of the shower head? - Heatercraft.com

I went to get a replacement core for my 95 but the website states you need an updated box for a brand new core ( not the same as the old ones ) - add another 50.00 on top of the core cost

Thanks again for you help!

Looks like Bake's is having a 10% memorial day sale http://bakesonline.com/

As far as the heatercores go, the new heatercore's don't fit in the old boxes (gray box) so you have to buy a new heatercore in the box like this picture in order to replace your core. I went down the same road in my 98RLX and i had to order the box later after i had taken it all apart (son-of-a...) see this link... http://bakesonline.com/detail.aspx?ID=786

So you might be getting a good deal because your paying for what you get, probaly just a core and your going to have to spend the $30-40 bucks for the box later...

I already ordered the part. Incidentally, mine is the 3-port vs. the 2-port you sent me the picture of. Hopefully, mine will fit. I actually called Heatercraft and told them exactly what I needed and they passed along the model number. We shall see!

Thanks for the input.
