Which Prop?

I can't remember what prop I put on my 07 VTX but I am 99% sure it was an OJ 475 but I do not see one on there site. If that is what it was i really liked it. Good for wake sports and very good on gas. My dealer is suggesting an acme 1235. However i thought that I have heard hear of people hitting the rev limiter with the acme. Any experience would help.

I just ordered an OJ 475 based on that recommendation from (Eric @)OJ to get something more geared for boarding for our 08 VTX. Stock it came with an Acme 537, I just figured if I was going to get another prop it should be a different setup. Kind of a toss up that I orderd OJ over Acme. One thing I was surprised at is that 475 is not stamped on the prop. It is 14.25x14.5 though. Not sure of the cup. Have not put it on yet, so no recommendation based on use, just OJs suggestion.

I got an OJ 475 with my vride and it works really well. I like OJ mainly because if you aren't satisfied Eric will work with you.

I have a 1235 on my VTX and it works quite well, but I feel I'm running high RPM's while at skiing speeds, but it handles slow speeds well and gets out of the hole well. I also have a 475 in a box that I haven't tested on my VTX yet, but hope to soon.

I use the 1235 on our '06 VLX but we don't ski. It's fantastic for boarding/surfing if I were footing/skiing I'd probably go another route for the top end

the standard cup on for most OJ props is 90. OJ is geared more to people knowing the size of the prop and nut just a # IE 475.

Willy one thing your dealer is not telling you is ACME has more then just the 1235 that will work great on your VTX with out hitting the Rev limiter. I forgot the 3 off the top of my head but give Gary at ACME a call and he could fill you in a ton more.

JM2C but side by side the OJ 475 is beefier then the ACME 1235.

Also the crew has a group buy discount on props for a short time longer for paid members. Thumbup.gif
