Windshield mounted mirrors

Mine is on the windshield directly in front of the driver. I've seen lots of photos where folks have them mounted on the walk thru portion. Pros? Cons? to each location?

My '06 23lsv was on the walkthrough windshield, dual mounting point to windsheild

My '08 23lsv is on the driver's windshied with , single mounting point jsut below windshield, extending upwards

Walkthrough:

Pros - better viewing angle IMHO

- flips down really easy for trailering/covering

Cons - can't use with the walkthrough opened up

Driver's

Pros - can use with walkthrough opened or closed

- better adjustment mechanism (on mirror itself)

cons - slightly less viewing angle

- harder to "lock" mount into place (very tight, small thumbscrew)

I guess I prefer it on the driver's location...

I think the ski pylon is best, then walk thru, then drivers side
